Stach: "A fair draw"
Oliver Baumann: "We're happy with the point after the way we played. There were good chances on both sides. We needed to show more precision in the first half. We had so many opportunities, but then couldn't do anything in the final third. But there have been phases in the past when we would have lost a game like this. We still have steps to take, but the progress is good. These are important weeks in which we want to get points and win. Today's game gives us courage, but we also know what steps we still have to take."
Anton Stach: "The draw is fair. We had good spells but still found it hard to create chances. Heidenheim also had a couple of opportunities, so it's a fair result. We've stabilised in recent weeks. It's good to keep a clean sheet again. We can take a lot from the game. We have a lot of quality up front and I'm sure we'll be successful again in the next few games."
Kevin Akpoguma: "It's a fair 0-0, a point won for me. We had a little more control over the 90 minutes, Heidenheim had the slightly better chances. It's always hard to play here, Heidenheim's style of play is hard to defend against. So I'm happy with the draw, especially with the clean sheet. I'm happy with how we faced the opposition as a group, and also with the input from the bench and how everyone threw themselves into it. We will now try to stabilise further. Of course, we are not satisfied with our position overall, because we have dropped too many points in the first few weeks of the season – but we know that we can beat any team. We now want to live up to our role as favourites in the DFB-Pokal against Nuremberg."
Pellegrino Matarazzo: "As expected, it was a tough game. It's very difficult to get into your game against Heidenheim, they do that very well with their defensive structure. It took us 20 minutes to get the ball into any dangerous areas. From then until the 60th minute, we were well in it. But Heidenheim also had a spell when they could have taken the lead. We can thank Oli Baumann for that. If Mergim crosses to Andrej at the end, we can win. We'll take the point and the clean sheet."
Frank Schmidt (1. FC Heidenheim manager): "Every point counts for us. It was evenly poised in the first half. Hoffenheim were better in the second half, especially in the opening minutes after the break. We also had two clear-cut chances to win the game. Unfortunately, we weren't clinical enough. But we kept a clean sheet and so we're satisfied with the point."
