Short description
Umut Tohumcu’s first involvement in a goal for the TSG first team came when he was 13 years old – albeit in a roundabout way. Then a ball boy, he enabled Andrej Kramarić to take a quick throw-in that ultimately led to Mark Uth scoring in a 2-0 victory against FC Bayern Munich. Since January 2023, the midfielder has been part of the senior squad himself. He first joined the TSG Hoffenheim youth setup in 2017, having moved to the Kraichgau from the SC Freiburg academy. The Germany youth international made his Bundesliga debut in Mönchengladbach in May 2022.
