Two late goals conceded: TSG lose to Leverkusen
Line-up
Head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo made two changes to his starting line-up compared to the 3-0 defeat to VfB Stuttgart: Andrej Kramarić and Ozan Kabak started in place of Kevin Akpoguma and Ihlas Bebou.
The scenario
TSG Hoffenheim went into the matchday in eighth position in the table, while Bayer 04 Leverkusen sat in pole position with a 10-point cushion over second place.
Moment of the match
Leverkusen's late winner through Patrik Schick rendered all of TSG's efforts over the previous 90 minutes futile – their passionate battling performance was not rewarded.
Number of the game: 39
TSG had the Werkself on the cusp of their first defeat of the season for a long time – but Leverkusen appear to be unbeatable this season. It was their 39th competitive game in a row without defeat.
Save of the day
Oliver Baumann showed all his class once again in the 76th minute: He initially made an outstanding save to keep out Patrik Schick's shot from five metres and then made another crazy reflex stop to save Amine Adli's follow-up.
Outlook
TSG Hoffenheim will play host to FC Augsburg next week. Kick-off is at 15:30 CET on Sunday (7 April).

Match highlights
Wirtz misses by centimetres
Almost the opener: Wirtz cuts into the middle from the left and targets the far corner but the international player's shot flies inches wide of the mark.
TSG lead!
1-0 to Hoffenheim! Beier runs towards the penalty area and picks out Weghorst, who slides in to play it back to Beier. TSG's top goalscorer keeps cool in front of Hradecky and opens the scoring.
Baumann saves
Major opportunity to restore parity: Xhaka spots that Baumann is expecting a cross and tries to catch the TSG goalkeeper by surprise. But Baumann manages to get back and claws the ball away - very important!
Kabak blocks
Within a whisker of the equaliser: Frimpong cuts the ball back from the byline into the middle for Hofmann. The former TSG academy player shoots first-time, but Kabak is on hand and blocks.
Huge save from Baumann
Wirtz dribbles past Grillitsch into the box and shoots. The shot takes a deflection off of Drexler, which makes it highly challenging for Baumann, but the TSG goalie makes an outstanding reflex stop and protects the lead.
OLIVER! BAUMANN!
Oli, you son of a gun! Schick first takes a shot from close range, but Baumann's arm flies up into the air. Adli then pounces on the follow-up but another crazy reflex preserves the lead.
Andrich levels
TSG withstand the pressure for a long time but now they are pegged back. Tah heads a cross from the back post into the middle, where Andrich slots home from close range. Bitter!
Leverkusen turn the game around
This can't be happening. Tella plays the ball low in front of goal and Schick slots home. Onside by a whisker.
