TSG Hoffenheim loan Gabriel Jesus out to Portugal

Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim have loaned Brazilian youngster Gabriel Jesus to Portuguese second-tier club Académico Viseu until the end of the current season. The 18-year-old centre-back, who signed from Barra FC in his home country in June 2024, has repeatedly struggled with injury problems since his arrival in Germany, but is now ready to return to the pitch.

"Gabriel Jesus is a talented centre-back who has already shown glimpses of his abilities in Brazil and who we believe will develop positively with us at Hoffenheim," said Andreas Schicker, TSG's sporting director, adding: "After his long injury break, he has completed an intensive rehab programme in recent weeks and is now ready to gain as much match practice as possible. At Académico Viseu, he not only has the chance to play regularly, but also to familiarise himself with the level of European football."

Gabriel Jesus played nine games in the Brazilian "Campeonato Catarinense" for Barra FC in the 2023/2024 season and moved to the Kraichgau in the summer of 2024 as a talented prospect for TSG Hoffenheim.
