Bülter: "We had more in us today"
Oliver Baumann: "We're disappointed because more was possible. We deserved to get that one point, but instead we're going home empty-handed. The goals that we conceded were classic Freiburg style. That's why I'm not satisfied. Freiburg had good sequences, Doan and Grifo are both decisive players. We came back brilliantly before half time, and we were building a lot of pressure after we went a goal down again, but they defended well after that. We still need a few points. But if we play like we played today in terms of our attitude and composure, we'll still get some points. I'm proud to have played 400 games for TSG Hoffenheim, but first I'm focusing on making sure we avoid relegation."
Marius Bülter: "It's extremely bitter to lose here. We had more in us today. In my opinion we were the better team in the second half especially, we had more possession, got lots of balls into the box, but the ball just didn't seem to want to go in. We needed a bit more luck in that game. We still have an eight-point buffer and there are only four games left, which at the end of the day isn't bad. But we shouldn't rest on our laurels, we need to be gaining points ourselves. I do believe that we can beat Dortmund next week at home. We need to approach it with courage and self-confidence."
Christian Ilzer: "It was a balanced game where both teams had their good phases. To come away with a good result, we needed to go into the lead in the opening phase of the game. That would have made a big difference mentally. When you look at the goals we conceded, it's clear that we need to defend better individually. But I saw a lot of positive things that we can build on. Overall we're disappointed that we didn't come away with more."
Julian Schuster (Head coach SC Freiburg): "I would describe the game similarly to how Christian described it. We saw a balanced first half, and then we went into the lead after two nicely played goals. Despite this, the score was 2-2 going into half time. The challenge then was to process that and be in the right headspace to approach the second half with consistency. After the goal that took us into the lead again, we really had to work hard because Hoffenheim played very well. We had to invest a lot."
