#TSGBVB: Top match under the floodlights

The scenario for the match between TSG Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund (Friday at 20:30 CET / Live Ticker at tsg-hoffenheim.de) could hardly be better. Both teams are in the top third of the table after the first five rounds of matches and could rise to the summit for one night at least. TSG could even equal a club record.

Did you know that…

…TSG have recently not fared well against Dortmund?

Hoffenheim have taken only one of a possible 18 points against BVB over the last three seasons. TSG have not suffered so many defeats (5) against any other Bundesliga club since the 2020/21 campaign.

…Hoffenheim can equal a club record?

Head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo's team have won their last four Bundesliga games on the bounce. Should TSG win again on Friday, they would equal a club record. The last time that Hoffenheim won five matches in a row was in the 2020 calendar year.

…the winner of the match will go top of the table?

Should there be a winner on Friday evening, that club will go top of the Bundesliga for one night at least. Whether it's TSG or Dortmund that come out on top, the victor will occupy pole position. Only in the event of a draw would neither of the two clubs be league leader.

…both teams are comeback specialists?

If one team takes the lead on Friday, that certainly does not mean that they will go on to win: because Borussia Dortmund (four points) and TSG Hoffenheim (six points) have taken the most points from losing positions in the early stages of this Bundesliga season.

…Oliver Baumann is in impressive form?

The TSG goalkeeper kept a clean sheet for the first time this season last Saturday. The performance served as confirmation of Baumann's outstanding form. The 33-year-old has saved the most shots in the league so far this season (28).
