Dortmund match reaction - Gisdol: "Proud of the team"

Markus Gisdol:“It was an incredibly intense game and one where, based on the first half, we thoroughly deserved the point. I am proud of my team. We battled against it and even had a small chance to win the game, but the result is fine. I had hoped that Dortmund might be a little tired after 60, 70 minutes but that wasn't the case. They just kept going.”

Jens Grahl: “It was a furious game with highs and lows. It was back and forth for 90 minutes. Their first goal is annoying from my point of view. That was my fault. That kind of thing just can't happen. I dealt with it though, and I think I was fully focused for the rest of the game. From my point of view, it really is impressive when five, six men flood towards your goal. Our defence dealt with that really well today. We can be delighted with a point.”

Jannik Vestergaard: “It's a little annoying that we couldn't stay 2-0 up. Then again, today's opponents were Borussia Dortmund. We did well against them and so we can be happy with the point. It was a good home game to finish the year off and a good finish for our fans. Everyone was fully committed. The last home game of the year went well for us.”

Kevin Volland: “Across the 90 minutes today, the tempo from both teams was just brutal. I think we took to the field as a team and battled really hard because we knew that Dortmund were an incredibly strong attacking side. I think everyone saw that today. Both teams had great chances to win the game in the end. Great credit to our defence – they cleared so much today. A share of the spoils is fair.”

Jürgen Klopp: “It was a really intense game today. I saw that my team really wanted to win. In the first half, we were sloppy. But after that we were more and more dangerous, and created a number of great chances – but we missed a few as well. The first goal we scored was a little fortunate. In the second half, we didn't take a lot of chances and the way we did that was something I've not seen before. I'll put that down to the strain of the week. We could have won here, but we also could have lost.”
