Schröck qualifies for AFC Challenge Cup - easy win for Polanski's Poland

After a hard-fought 1-0 win over Turkmenistan, Stephan Schröck and the Philippines have qualified for the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup in the Maldives.

The Hoffenheim midfielder was withdrawn by manager Michael Weiß in added time to run down the clock. While on the pitch, Schröck covered more ground than any other player. Despite their defeat, Turkmenistan qualified for the competition in the Maldives as one of the best second-placed sides.

Eugen Polanski celebrated a 5-0 victory in Warsaw with Poland, comfortably overcoming group whipping boys San Marino. The defensive midfielder played the full 90 minutes. The hosts' goals came from Robert Lewandowski (2), Łukasz Piszczek, Łukasz Teodorczyk and Jakub Kosecki. The three points puts Poland into third place in Group H of the World Cup qualifiers. They now sit four points behind second-placed England with a game in hand.

Filip Malbasic was also successful with the Serbia U21s. The TSG striker played 55 minutes in his side's 2-0 win in Bulgaria. Aleksandar Mitrovic of Partizan Belgrade provided both of Serbia's goals. Luis Advincula won in Lima with Peru, beating 2006 World Cup participants Trinidad and Tobago 3-0. The Hoffenheim midfielder impressed throughout the full 90 minutes.
