Ilzer: "We have to analyse the game and the mistakes"
Oliver Baumann: "We didn't start well at all. I made a typical bad pass and we also defended badly for the second goal we conceded. Then it was difficult after going 2-0 down so early on. We weren't able to penetrate decisively ourselves and lacked potency. We didn't quite have the energy in the second half, we have to analyse that. The performance after we won against Leipzig on Saturday shows that we're only human. Things don't always go your way. But the feeling in the team is right, the squad are together."
Anton Stach: "We went behind far too quickly, but we didn't actually do too badly after that. We managed to project a decent amount of energy onto the pitch and also had some good chances. In the second half, we lacked the last few percentage points in our running and tackling. It was by no means a debacle, the cards just didn't stack up. The team is just starting out, it's a process, we're learning the routines, they weren't perfect against Leipzig either. We just have to keep working on it."
Christian Ilzer: "It's a deserved win for Sporting Braga. It's a bitter defeat for us, the opening phase was brutal. Going 2-0 down after eight minutes did something to the players' heads. We had our moments after 20 minutes, but our attacking play was too slow. The open spaces developed too slowly. Braga were dangerous on the counter-attack and had no problems defending their lead. It wasn't enough, we didn't show the face we did on Saturday. We have to put the game behind us quickly, but work out the key points. We have to learn important lessons from today. We had a very good first game, but it wasn't so great today. Now we have to analyse what went wrong. It was a good week of training, there was no sign of a drop in intensity at all."
Carlos Carvalhal (Sporting Braga coach): "It was a deserved win that we prepared well. I didn't like the phase between the 20th and 40th minute so much. We let the game slip a bit there. Things got better after the break and we had a few clear chances to score a third goal. It came in stoppage time and was wonderful."
