Moerstedt: "A dream has come true"
Oliver Baumann: "It was right in terms of the fighting spirit, morale and solidarity. That was the case beforehand too, but now we've also come away with something. That was a first step. We can definitely play better, but the fact we scored the equaliser at the death of course does us good. We've also taken a step forward in terms of our interaction with the fans. We had talks and I think that things are now good. You could also see that today. Hopefully we've drawn a good line under that now."
Florian Grillitsch: "I think that it was a fair result in the end. Midtjylland had more chances in the first half, but we were applying pressure towards the end of the second half. Midtjylland have a good squad that want to play, but as a Bundesliga club it is still our ambition to win here. In the end we got a point, we'll take that. Unlike the last match, it was of course a step forward."
Marius Bülter: "It was important for us not to lose today. We showed spirit. We fell behind due to a lovely goal from them but did everything in our power to score the equaliser. It is important that we managed to get it too. Max is a very, very good lad, who simply needs to keep going in the same way, work and keep his feet on the ground. It of course remains a central topic for us as a team to be more solid defensively and to give away fewer chances. That is the biggest lever for improvement – even if we as TSG Hoffenheim want to be synonymous with attacking play."
Max Moerstedt: "A huge dream came true for me today. I try to help the team and score a goal when I get my minutes. We wanted to make up the deficit – it's wonderful that we managed this thanks to my goal. But the point is more important than my goal. When Pavel played the cross, I tried to get away from my man. The rest was then natural and also somewhat lucky, I simply wanted to direct the ball at goal. It was a team performance thanks to which we deserved the goal at the end. I'm super happy."
Pellegrino Matarazzo: "We wanted to give the opposition little space because they have a lot of tempo and quality in their attacking ranks. We wanted to minimise the space behind our defence and increasingly take control of the match going forward. We unfortunately only partially managed that offensively. We need to work even better in the red zone. The bottom line is positive: we showed heart. A 1-1 draw after being behind shows spirit. I'm happy about the point and will gladly take it. We want to go one better against Bremen on Sunday. You can't learn potential as a player; you're born with it. But it takes time and hard work to fulfil it. Tom Bischof, for example, arrived in professional football today, he had a great game. Max Moerstedt is also very professional and has shown his quality. It's important for him to get playing time. He will get that with us so that he develops further. If he doesn't play for us, he will see action with the second team."
