Kramarić: "We have to keep going like this"
Andrej Kramarić: "It's a good feeling to have won the match. It wasn't easy, but we knew that's how it would be against Augsburg. We played very well in the first period and deservedly took the lead. We want to play European football next year, that's our objective. To do so, we need to keep going like this. We're therefore happy that we've won the match."
Wout Weghorst: "We made a super start and played very confidently for 30 minutes. Pavel set me up for the goal for 1-0 outstandingly in that phase, the goal for 2-0 was deserved too. After the first half an hour, we then had too many simple losses of possession and became slightly careless. We spoke about that in the break. but Augsburg still had many opportunities after the interval. But we too had chances and in the end we all showed a great work ethic once again and did everything in order to get three points. The 3-1 was a super goal and brought relief; the victory was deserved."
Florian Grillitsch: "At the beginning, we worked well off the ball and found good solutions with the ball. But then, after around 35 minutes, we left a lot to chance, rarely won the ball and were too imprecise with our passing game. We have to work on that and then we'll all make life easier for ourselves once again. We lacked a bit of energy at the end, but the win was deserved because of the first half. But we're very satisfied because it was a very important three points at a sold-out stadium. It can continue like this. We're on a good path and have everything in our own hands. We want to play internationally and finish at least seventh; we'll do everything we can to achieve that."
Pellegrino Matarazzo: "We made a very good start to the game. The team seized control early on. But we faltered slightly from the 35th to around the 75th minute and were not solid. We didn't manage the transition from control to counter-attack well. Towards the end, we were able to put together a few good counter-attacks again. But in my opinion, we deserved to win because of our hard work."
Jess Thorup (FC Augsburg head coach): "We lost the game in the first 20 minutes. Unfortunately, we made a few mistakes that gave Hoffenheim the opportunity to switch the play successfully on numerous occasions. After conceding the two goals, we made a few changes. The team then pulled a goal back and had opportunities to level. But after five games without defeat, we unfortunately lost again today – even though more was possible. But we tried everything until the end. There were many positive things for me, but we're of course disappointed."
