Baumann: "We must show it consistently for 90 minutes"
Oliver Baumann: "It's a shame because it was actually a good game from us until the goal for 2-1. We had a lot of possession in spells, created good opportunities and could have made it 2-2 with a bit of luck. As is so often the case, we were missing a few little things; we weren't compact enough at the back and then it gets difficult in Leipzig. We definitely still have room for improvement, but I'm sticking to my guns: we're on the right track, we just have to show it consistently for 90 minutes."
Pellegrino Matarazzo: "Emil Forsberg is of course an outstanding player. Unfortunately they hit us on the counter-attack directly after his substitution and he scored a lovely goal. You cannot give them any space in a spell in which you've got a good foothold in the game. We were too far away from the opponent. Then it's difficult to defend against Leipzig's counter-attacks. Unfortunately, we conceded two goals from set-pieces too. That really hurts."
Marco Rose (RB Leipzig coach): "If you were to write the story, you would probably write it like this. In Emil, we're losing a great guy. He once again made the difference in a tight game today. If you consider how many matches our players have had to play, we played well from the start today. We had to look out for Hoffenheim's counter-attacks, but in the end the victory was well-deserved."
