TSG-heavy Germany team draws 2-2 without Baumann
A national team with a strong TSG presence played out a 2-2 draw with Mexico late on Tuesday night. The ex-Hoffenheimers on the coaching staff, head coach Julian Nagelsmann and his assistants Benjamin Glück and Sandro Wagner, included the two former TSG players Niklas Süle and Pascal Groß in the starting line-up and brought on David Raum and Jonas Hofmann during the course of the match. Oliver Baumann did not play and is still waiting for his international debut.
Hungary and Attila Szalai missed out on the chance to secure a EURO berth on Tuesday evening. The Hungarian national team might have come from 2-0 down against Lithuania, but the point from their 2-2 draw was not sufficient to prematurely seal one of the top two spots. The TSG player completed the full 90 minutes for the Group G leaders, who are still ideally positioned to take part in the finals.
Robert Skov and the Denmark national team have their sights set firmly on EURO qualification. The team won 2-1 in San Marino but were made to work hard for the victory after the outsiders scored their first competitive goal in over two years to level the scores (61). Robert Skov was subsequently brought on as a substitute and was able to celebrate the winning goal on the pitch (70). With two matchdays to go, second-placed Denmark have a three-point lead over Kazakhstan.
Tom Bischof captained the Germany U19s onto the field for their EURO qualifier in Poland, but the DFB team were held to a 3-3 stalemate. But after three rounds of matches, they comfortably top the qualifying group with seven points ahead of Poland (four) and North Macedonia (four).
Diadié Samassékou was also in action with his national team. The Hoffenheim player was in the starting XI for Mali's 3-1 friendly victory over Saudi Arabia in Portugal.
