Did you know that…

…Hoffenheim have put together a good run of results against promoted sides?

TSG have only lost one of their last ten Bundesliga matches against promoted teams (seven wins and two draws) - a 2-0 defeat at home to St. Pauli in the reverse fixture this season. Away from home, on the other hand, Hoffenheim have won each of their last six Bundesliga matches against promoted teams. This is the longest such streak in the Bundesliga, shared with Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

…St. Pauli are faltering at the Millerntor?

FC St. Pauli have not been doing well at home this season. At the Millerntor, coach Alexander Blessin's team have picked up just nine points from 12 games - the fewest ever at this point in a Bundesliga season.

…the Hamburg club have struggled offensively?

St. Pauli have scored 19 goals this season - which means they have the weakest offensive record in the Bundesliga. Never before have St. Pauli scored so few goals after 25 games in the top flight. They have failed to score in their last two home games and have already gone goalless in nine of their 12 Bundesliga home games - another negative record in the league.

…Hoffenheim's form has improved recently?

TSG have gone four Bundesliga games in a row unbeaten for the first time this season (two wins and two draws). Hoffenheim have won three of their last four Bundesliga games away from home (one defeat) - more victories than in their previous 20 away games combined. In the second half of the current Bundesliga season, only Augsburg (11) have picked up more points away from home than Hoffenheim (nine).

…Hoffenheim and St. Pauli take a different approach when it comes to squad rotation?

Hoffenheim have already deployed 34 different players this Bundesliga season - more than any other club. St Pauli, on the other hand, have only used 27 players. Despite the rotation, both teams have only had ten different goalscorers so far - Mainz 05 are the only team in the league with fewer (nine).
