TSG Hoffenheim gunning for third away victory

Following their 3-1 win at 1. FC Köln, TSG Hoffenheim are set for their second away game in succession. TSG will travel to 1. FC Union Berlin on Saturday (15:30 CET / Live Ticker at tsg-hoffenheim.de). The aim at the Stadion an der Alten Försterei will be to win for the fourth game in a row and pick up the third away triumph of the season. Prior to the clash with Union, who will be away to Real Madrid in the Champions League in midweek, we have compiled the most important facts, stats and figures #FCUTSG below.

Did you know that…

…TSG could win three of the first four matches in a Bundesliga season for only the third time?

It has only happened in 2010/11 (10 points) and 2022/23 (9). The start to the season 13 years ago is the only time the Kraichgau club have taken more points from the first four Bundesliga games.

…Hoffenheim could equal their own away record?

By winning in Heidenheim and Cologne, TSG have won back-to-back away games in the Bundesliga for the first time since February/March 2022. A third successive victory would see the club's record in the top flight equalled. The last time this happened was in 2020. In addition, TSG have won the first two away games of a top-flight season for the first time.

…Union Berlin boast a good record against TSG?

The "Iron Ones" have tasted defeat in only one of their six Bundesliga matches against TSG Hoffenheim. They have won on three occasions, while the teams have played out a draw three times. But the most recent memory may give Hoffenheim cause for confidence. TSG won the most recent encounter on Matchday 33 of last season by a 4-2 scoreline and secured their status in the division in the process.

…TSG have never kept a clean sheet against Union?

TSG have conceded 16 goals in their eight Bundesliga clashes with Union to date; they have not managed to keep a clean sheet in any one of them.

…an outstanding home run recently came to an end for Union?

In their last home game against RB Leipzig, the Berlin outfit suffered their first Bundesliga defeat on home turf since February 2022, having gone 24 home games unbeaten.

…Union Berlin are a team with an aerial threat?

The capital club have already scored seven headed goals this Bundesliga season – that's a league high and a record for the first four matchdays. Hoffenheim, meanwhile, do not yet have a headed goal to their name this term.
