#KOETSG: Start a new run against Köln

TSG Hoffenheim will travel to 1. FC Köln for their fourth Bundesliga match of the season on Saturday (15:30 CET / Live Ticker at tsg-hoffenheim.de). TSG lost to the Rhineland outfit last time out but had previously been on a brilliant run. We have compiled some exciting and interesting facts on the clash with Köln below.

Did you know that…

…TSG have a very good record against Köln?

TSG have lost only one of their last 14 matches against 1. FC Köln, winning on nine occasions and playing out four draws. Köln's long 13-game winless run ended in the last meeting in Hoffenheim in April, with the men from the Rhineland running out 3-1 victors that day. It would therefore be a good opportunity for TSG to start a new positive run on Saturday.

…TSG have not lost in Köln for a long time?

The Cathedral City club are without a home win against TSG in seven Bundesliga matches. Hoffenheim have won four times at the RheinEnergieStadion in this period, while there have also been three draws between the teams.

…Köln have started poorly for the first time under coach Steffen Baumgart?

Köln have started the season with one point from their first three matches. This is their poorest start to a campaign while Steffen Baumgart has been in charge. Köln are winless in five Bundesliga matches stretching back into last season – the only longer winless run of Baumgart's tenure came between February and April this year (six games).

…TSG, meanwhile, have made their third-best Bundesliga start?

Hoffenheim have kicked off their 16th Bundesliga season with six points from the first three games. Only twice have TSG taken more points from the first three matchdays (nine in 2010/11 and seven in 2017/18).

…Köln vs. Hoffenheim is a meeting of two very hard-running teams?

FC vs. TSG will be a meeting between the two clubs that have covered the biggest and the third-biggest distance across the opening three Bundesliga matchdays – Köln have covered 370.1km in the first three games (123.4km per game) and TSG have run 364.0km (121.3km per game).

…Oliver Baumann is celebrating a landmark?

TSG goalkeeper Oliver Baumann is about to play his 300th Bundesliga match for TSG – no other player has made that many appearances for Hoffenheim in the top flight. Baumann has saved a total of 18 shots from the opposition in the current Bundesliga campaign – more than any other goalkeeper across the first three matchdays.
