Good performance is not rewarded: TSG lose to Dortmund
The line-up
Pellegrino Matarazzo made two changes to the starting line-up that won 2-0 away to Union Berlin. The injured Wout Weghorst and Pavel Kadeřábek were replaced by Florian Grillitsch and Ihlas Bebou.
The scenario
TSG Hoffenheim had won four of their first five games of the season and were in fifth place with 12 points. BVB were one place and one point behind TSG.
Moment of the match
There was a huge chance to equalise shortly after the restart: Andrej Kramarić chipped the ball into the middle, where the unmarked Grischa Prömel headed it against Gregor Kobel from five metres out.
Number of the game: 9
Andrej Kramarić's goal to make it 1-1 was the ninth the Croat has scored against Borussia Dortmund – TSG's record goalscorer has not netted more often against any other current Bundesliga club.
Fond farewell
Shortly before kick-off, two great TSG figures were celebrated. Ermin Bičakčić and Sebastian Rudy were given an official send-off – two legends of our club got the tribute that they deserved.
Outlook
The next matchday will see TSG travel north: Pellegrino Matarazzao's charges will be away to Werder Bremen on Saturday, with the match set to kick off at 18:30 CET.

Match highlights
Baumann makes the stop
BVB win the ball back on the halfway line and switch the play quickly: Özcan feeds Malen, who shoots too centrally under pressure from Kabak. Baumann gets his arms up in time.
Dortmund take the lead
The throw-in is played to Brooks, who controls the ball with his chest, but it then bounces straight to the feet of Brandt. He threads it through to Füllkrug, who simply has to slot home into the empty net.
The equaliser!
That was quick. Hummels fouls Stach, with Andrej Kramarić coolly converting the resultant penalty as per usual.
Almost 2-1
Dortmund are making major mistakes in their build-up play, which TSG almost punish: Bebou's cross is punched clear and a Dortmund defender blocks Skov’s shot on the follow-up with Kobel already beaten.
Reus scores out of nothing
The goal comes against the run of play. Malen gets the better of Skov and Stach down the right flank; Baumann manages to push away the cross but Reus is in the right place and slots home.
Prömel denied by Kobel
Kramarić makes a strong run down the right and crosses to Prömel. But the TSG midfielder’s downward header from five metres is straight at Kobel.
Skov hits the bar
TSG have emerged strongly after the break: Skov strikes a free-kick from around 23 metres against the bar. Two huge chances at the start of the second period.
Bensebaini is dismissed
Bensebaini, who has already been cautioned, kicks the ball away and is shown a second yellow card.
Ryerson decides the game
Ryerson surges through down the left flank, successfully dribbles past several players and stays ice-cool in front of Baumann.
