#TSGSCF: Baden derby to kick off the season

The new Bundesliga season will begin for TSG on Saturday (15:30 CET / Live Ticker at tsg-hoffenheim.de), with Hoffenheim set to host SC Freiburg at the PreZero Arena in the opening game. TSG have not fared well in the Baden derby recently, but Freiburg will be missing a key player on Saturday. We have picked out some exciting facts on the match.

Did you know that…

…Andrej Kramarić likes scoring against Freiburg?

Andrej Kramarić has already scored eight Bundesliga goals against SC Freiburg – the Croat has not scored more often against any current top-flight team (also eight goals against Dortmund).

…Freiburg's key player is missing?

Nicolas Höfler will not be available to SC Freiburg on Saturday, with the midfielder serving a ban for a red card. SC have won only two of the 13 league matches which Höfler did not start since the start of 2019/20 (15% win ratio). The win ratio in the league is three times high with him in the line-up (45%).

…Freiburg have recently been a bogey team?

TSG Hoffenheim have won only one of their last nine competitive matches against SC Freiburg (six defeats and two draws). Their last home victory against the men from Freiburg came five years ago, with TSG running out 3-1 victors on 1 September 2018.

…Christian Streich is nearing a record?

Freiburg coach Christian Streich is entering his 12th Bundesliga season as Freiburg's coach – only two tacticians have spent longer in the dugout for one club in the league's history: Thomas Schaaf (16) and Otto Rehhagel (15) – both with Werder Bremen.

…it will be a special game for the goalkeepers?

Oliver Baumann, who came through the ranks at SC Freiburg, has now made 427 appearances in the Bundesliga. Of all the currently active Bundesliga keepers, only Manuel Neuer has kept goal more times in the top flight (478). Meanwhile, Freiburg's new first-choice goalie Noah Atubolu will probably be making his Bundesliga debut against TSG.
