Cup gala for TSG against Schalke
The scenario
The two clubs went head-to-head again only four days after their last meeting. TSG Hoffenheim won 3-0 away to FC Schalke 04 on Friday and were now aiming to reach the DFB-Pokal last 16.
The line-up
Never change a winning team: head coach André Breitenreiter named an unchanged starting XI compared to the comfortable win in the Bundesliga. Only Nahuel Noll replaced Luca Philipp as the back-up goalie.
Number of the game: 7
TSG Hoffenheim have now found the net at least once in seven DFB-Pokal home games in a row.
Moment of the match
The third goal: TSG wrapped up the game on the stroke of half-time. Hoffenheim showed total composure and great quality with a passing move following a corner. Dennis Geiger played in Munas Dabbur, who was ruthless from a centre-right position in the box and hammered the ball into the roof of the net. The game was all-but over at that point.
Assist of the evening
In the fifth minute, Ozan Kabak won the ball back from Danny Latzka in midfield, then got the better of an opponent and played a perfect ball to play in Munas Dabbur. The striker kept his cool in front of goal and rounded off the great build-up work to make it 1-0 early on.
Outlook
TSG will play their next home game at the PreZero Arena on Saturday (15:30 CET), when FC Bayern Munich come to town. The draw for the DFB-Pokal round of 16 will take place a day later (19:15 CET). Then TSG fans will find out who the opponents in the last 16 will be.

Match highlights
A big opportunity straightaway
Almost the dream start: Baumgartner plays the ball out perfectly to Angeliño, who is relatively free but fires wide of the right upright. That was a big chance to take an early lead.
The perfect beginning
What a start by TSG: Ozan Kabak wins the ball back in midfield and then tees up Dabbur with a super pass. The striker keeps his composure, cuts back inside Kral and then fires coolly inside the near post.
Schwolow denies Dabbur a brace
Another delightful attack from TSG: Prömel back-flicks the ball perfectly into the path of Dabbur, who shoots first-time, but Schwolow gets down towards his near post and saves.
Angeliño piledriver makes it 2-0
TSG push for a second goal and get their reward: Geiger is first denied by Schwolow, but the ball makes its way via Skov to Angeliño, who thumps it from 22 metres and picks out the bottom right corner.
Chance spurned too carelessly
TSG are dominating the game but miss out on the third goal. Dabbur dinks the ball delightfully in behind the defence. Prömel has time to latch onto it but fires straight into the arms of Schwolow. That should've been the third goal.
The highly deserved third goal
TSG show composure from a corner-kick and are rewarded. Geiger plays it through to Dabbur, who keeps his cool in front of Schwolow and hammers into the roof of the net.
The fourth goal
Skov delivers a free-kick from the left into the middle. Ozan Kabak gets to the ball relatively unchallenged and heads home from several metres out. The fourth goal of the day.
Give me five
TSG are playing themselves into a frenzy: Angeliño crosses low from the left into the middle; Bruun Larsen just misses it, but Kadeřábek is free at the back post and comfortably slots home for 5-0.
Consolation goal for Schalke
Schalke score for the first time with around 20 minutes to go. They switch the play quickly after winning the ball. Drexler deceives Akpoguma and fires into the corner.
