Pavel Kadeřábek: "We did not play well in the first half and did not put in a good performance. Ultimately, it is a decision from the referee that has influenced the match. He at least needs to take a look at the incident at the end, I cannot understand that. But we cannot change it now. We now only have a five-point lead over the relegation play-off place, that's not great. We need to make sure that we finally get some points in the last three matches. I have been playing for TSG for 10 years and have already been in this situation: I am convinced that we will stay in the league."

Adam Hložek: "It was a crazy game. We were too passive in the first half. We then played better in the second half and also scored two goals, but unfortunately we're going home without any points. I cannot be delighted with my goal because we did not win the match. We still have three tough games to play. We were very close to picking up a point today, but we need wins in the remaining matches."

Anton Stach: "It is unbelievably bitter to lose the match. I would have liked him to have at least taken a look at the incident. Perhaps I don't understand the rules, but the game is actually supposed to be stopped in the event of a possible head injury. But that's what the referee decided. It doesn't bring us anything to discuss it further at length. We would have deserved a point. We fought and battled our way back, but in the end we come away from here with zero points and are right back in the relegation mix again. We now have three finals, everyone is aware of that."

Christian Ilzer: "Dortmund were the team dictating the play and deservedly took the lead. We then found ways to hold our own against such a class team. We went into the second half with confidence, scored a lovely equalising goal and then scored the goal to make it 2-2 in stoppage time. A point would have been deserved and would have been very good for morale. The late conceded goal not only hurt Oli's head, but all of us. We have taken a look at the incident many times. For us, Oli clearly gets to the ball first, takes a knee to the face and is knocked out. For me, it was a foul and thus an illegitimate goal. But when you score a late equaliser, you cannot then allow a situation whereby a player goes clean through on the goalkeeper. We need to develop better defensive practices. We have to invest too much in order to pick up points. We don't have to start doing the maths now, because things turn out differently in football anyway. We need to develop good team energy and prepare for the next game with full focus."

Niko Kovac (Borussia Dortmund coach): "We performed well for long periods. In my opinion, we should have wrapped the game up much earlier. By failing to do that, we always allowed Hoffenheim hope that they could still come back. The goal for 2-2 was a blow for us, but I'm pleased that we scored with the last kick. I of course know that Hoffenheim are very annoyed about that. It's a very close incident. If Oli Baumann is first to the ball, it's a foul. But Chukwuemeka got to the ball a tad earlier, so I think it's within the rules. Nonetheless, I understand Hoffenheim's frustration. The team showed the will to win and I'd like to pay them a big compliment. That's how you fight to achieve your objectives."
