#BVBTSG: Unpredictable Borussia
Did you know that…
…TSG have made their second-best start to a Bundesliga season?
TSG Hoffenheim have nine points from their opening four games and have only once made a better start to a Bundesliga season – in the 2010/11 campaign, when they picked up 10 points. A victory would see the Kraichgau outfit set a new club record: Hoffenheim have never had 12 points after the first five rounds of Bundesliga matches.
…possession turnovers high up the pitch could be a theme?
Only Eintracht Frankfurt have won the ball back high up the pitch more often (42 times) than BVB (41) this Bundesliga season. But TSG Hoffenheim have only allowed their opponents the ball back 22 times in their own defensive third – the fewest in the league.
…Andrej Kramarić tends to enjoy facing Dortmund?
No current Bundesliga player has scored more against Borussia Dortmund than Andrej Kramarić. TSG's record goalscorer has previously notched eight goals against BVB. The Croat only has more against Hertha. His four-goal haul at Signal Iduna Park in 2019/20 was legendary and inspired TSG's biggest win in Dortmund to date (4-0).
…BVB are tough to predict?
Following the departure of Erling Haaland, Borussia Dortmund have had to find new ways to score goals. The burden has been shouldered by the whole team, with their 10 competitive goals this season scored by 10 different players. But a number of TSG players have also been in scoring form: their tally of 10 goals has been spread across eight players. Ozan Kabak and Christoph Baumgartner are the only players to have celebrated scoring more than once.
…a number of former Hoffenheim players are now at BVB?
There are five ex-TSG players plying their trade for Borussia Dortmund this season. Gregor Kobel, Niklas Süle, Nico Schulz, Felix Passlack and Anthony Modeste could all feature against their former club on Friday evening.
