Hoeness: ''We won't underestimate Gladbach''

TSG Hoffenheim will be looking to crown an impressive first half-season with a win when they host Borussia Mönchengladbach at the PreZero Arena on Saturday (15:30 CET/liveticker on tsg-hoffenheim.de). The visitors arrive on the back of four straight defeats. At the press conference before the duel with Gladbach, head coach Sebastian Hoeness nevertheless urged a note of caution and also spoke about the personnel situation as well as Ihlas Bebou's contract extension.

Sebastian Hoeness on…

…the personnel situation: „Ermin Bičakčić, Robert Skov, Marco John and Jacob Bruun Larsen are still unavailable. There are question marks over the involvement of Kevin Akpoguma, Georginio Rutter and Angelo Stiller.''

…Borussia Mönchengladbach: ''They're a mess at the moment in terms of the results they've been getting. But against Frankfurt you could see that not everything they're doing is bad. All in all, Gladbach will bring a really good team onto the pitch tomorrow. What they're lacking is self-confidence. We won't make the mistake of underestimating them. We want to get another three points and end the year with a win.''

…the team's development: ''We're currently fourth in the table. It doesn't get much better than that, especially given the financial situation. There has also been a lot of progress regarding our style of play. Our wins at home in particular have been really stable. Our last three matches have been very even and could have gone either way. I still think we're conceding too many goals, so that's something we'll have to tighten up.''

…Ihlas Bebou's contract extension: "I'm very happy about it. Ihlas has been a hugely important player since I arrived. He has helped us a lot and is difficult for any opponent to defend. He both scores and sets up goals. Besides his footballing qualities, he is also a great guy."

The opposition's form:

Borussia Mönchengladbach travel to the PreZero Arena with their heads down: coach Adi Hütter's side have lost their last four matches, conceding 17 goals in the process. This poor run of form has seen them drop down to 13th in the table.

Head-to-head:

Games between Gladbach and Hoffenheim promise to be high-scoring affairs: 90 goals have been scored in the 26 Bundesliga meetings between the two sides. TSG have won nine of these games, Borussia seven, with the other ten ending in draws.
