…the Hoffenheim personnel situation:

"Andrej Kramarić trained with us again yesterday; he looked good. If he doesn't have a reaction to the workload, he'll be an option for us on Saturday. Dennis Geiger isn't yet ready; Sargis Adamyan is still training individually but hopefully he'll be back with the team on Friday. If he resumes tomorrow, he could also be an option for the match."

…the TSG goalkeepers:

"Oli Baumann will be in goal against Wolfsburg. His rehabilitation has gone very well; a big compliment to him, he was extremely hard-working and very professional. Philipp Pentke stood in for him very well, but we can't play with two goalkeepers. He was a safe pair of hands for the team over the past few games, was good in every match and played extremely well against Leverkusen. He naturally also wants to play, that's how it should be. But he knows his role and knows why he was signed. He has performed superbly over the past few weeks; Oli has been superb for years and is our Number 1, so it's not an issue and is accepted by everyone here."

…VfL Wolfsburg:

"They're an extremely good team with very good players. They finished sixth in the table last year and are still involved in European competition. The squad has stayed together – they're simply a very good opponent."

…his criticism after the 1-0 loss in Freiburg:

"That was only constructive criticism. The team is good but I want us to get even better. That's what we want to see. It was not negative criticism. We also showed the players what they did well in the video meeting. More than 20 shots against Freiburg is remarkable, but their goalkeeper Schwolow was very good and we hit the post twice too. We had the belief but not the luck. But what matters to me is the lads' development, and that's very good."

The social media question of the week:

Maximilian Beier is the youngest player to represent TSG in the Bundesliga. Are you satisfied with him?

"He didn't play for all that long, but when he came on he was fearless and very courageous – as we expected he would be. He was involved in some super stuff. His development is very good, he's been very strong with the U19s and is training very well with us too. From his perspective, he was perhaps a little lucky against Freiburg given that Andrej and Sargis were out and we needed another striker. But he also deserved [to play in] that match. We're in constant communication about how he's faring with the U19s. He's an extremely talented player; his time at TSG will come. It's part of our job to keep tabs on such players and to integrate them."

VfL have taken seven points from their four Bundesliga matches in 2020. Their last match against Fortuna Düsseldorf ended in a 1-1 draw, although they did beat Paderborn 4-2 in their last away game. The Wolves sit 10th in the table with 28 points and are in the Europa League knockout stages.

TSG lost their last home game against the Wolves – in April of last year – 4-1, but the meeting before that in Sinsheim in 2018 ended 3-0 to the hosts. The reverse fixture this season finished 1-1.
