Adamyan and Pentke to face former club
Before the TSG Hoffenheim squad head for their training camp in Windischgarsten on Thursday, Alfred Schreuder's charges will take on second-tier club Jahn Regensburg on Wednesday (15:30 CET). The match venue, the ground of FC Zuzenhausen 1920, is just over a kilometre from the TSG Hoffenheim training ground as the crow flies.
The match will be a special occasion for TSG new boys Philipp Pentke and Sargis Adamyan, who were Regensburg players until 30 June and both enjoyed a successful time with their former club. SSV Jahn have established themselves in the 2. Bundesliga over the past two seasons, finishing in fifth and eighth place respectively.
While TSG will depart for their training camp the day after the friendly, Jahn Regensburg are already approaching the end of their pre-season preparations. The Bavarians will start their 2. Bundesliga campaign against VfL Bochum on 28 July. In addition to the two players who joined Hoffenheim, Regensburg also lost coach Achim Beierlorzer to 1. FC Cologne. Beierlorzer's successor is Mersad Selimbegovic, who has already worked as the club's assistant coach.
Wednesday's match shall consist of four 30-minute periods.
