"Kicker" rankings – Baumann is of "international quality"
Not only has he made it into the "German football rankings" again, but he's even managed to climb up three spots from his position in last year's edition. Our very own number 1, Oli Baumann, has jumped up from seventh to fourth place – meaning that he is of 'international quality' according to Kicker.
The publication wrote about the following about the 27-year-old: "Baumann does everything that is asked of him at the highest level. His play in the penalty area has taken a big step forward. The Hoffenheim man has generally shown the ability to play at the highest level, and has only really had one major blip against Hamburg (3-0). Otherwise he has been fantastic, including in TSG's European fixtures."
Two central defenders were included in Kicker's central defensive rankings: Kevin Vogt and Benni Hübner.
Kaderabek is also ranked
Another Hoffenheim man made it into the full back rankings – Pavel Kaderabek. After missing out on previous lists due to various injuries, Kaderabek is now ranked fifth in his position.
"The Czech employs a very effective brand of physical football in defense. The TSG player sometimes lacks the necessary precision in attack, however, which could explain why he only has two assists to his name this season," writes Kicker.
The rankings for the rest of the positions will be published on Thursday.
