TSG celebrate first home win against Leverkusen

TSG Hoffenheim have won again at home. Julian Nagelsmann's men edged past Bayer Leverkusen with a 1-0 victory. After an even first half, TSG took the initiative in the second with Sandro Wagner bagging the game's only goal.

Line-up and tactics:

With Kevin Vogt missing through suspension after picking up five yellow cards in the match in Freiburg, Nagelsmann and his coaching team selected Ermin Bicakcic as his replacement in the back three. Nadiem Amiri, meanwhile, started on the bench, with Adam Szalai coming into the starting XI in his place. Niklas Süle and Benjamin Hübner made up the back three in front of Oliver Baumann, with Jeremy Toljan and Steven Zubner on the wings as against Freiburg. Sebastian Rudy sat in the hole in midfield behind Kerem DEmirbay and Andrej Kramaric. Sandro Wagner and Szalai led the line in attack.

Moment of the Match:

Fantastic build-up for the winning goal. Amiri starts the move with a long run through the middle before feeding the ball to Zuber, who was called up to the Switzerland national team earlier this week. He whips the ball low and hard into the box, setting it up perfectly for Wagner tap it in.

Number of the match: 250

With his eleventh goal of the season, Wagner is TSG's top scorer, but today's strike was the 250th home goal for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. The win was also TSG's first ever at home against the 'Werkself' in the Bundesliga.
