TSG lose despite taking early lead in Wolfsburg

Hoffenheim started strongly and took the lead thanks to Steven Zuber but second-half goals from Maximilian Arnold and Daniel Didavi turned the game around and saw the Wolves inflict a second defeat of the season on TSG.

Personnel and Tactics:

Julian Nagelsmann sent out the same side that beat Mainz 4-0 last weekend, meaning Mark Uth and Andrej Kramaric started up top. Suspended Sandro Wagner was left as home, as were Lukas Rupp, Jeremy Toljan, Fabian Schär and Philipp Ochs, all of whom are suffering with injuries currently.

Oliver Baumann played between the sticks, with Hübner-Vogt-Süle making up the back three. Sebastian Rudy, Kerem Demirbay and Nadiem Amiri operated in central midfield, with Pavel Kaderabek and Steven Zuber playing on the flanks.

Mark Uth, Andrej Kramaric and Nadiem Amiri were replaced by Marco Terrazzino, Adam Szalai and Pirmin Schwegler over the course of the 90 minutes.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH:

Kerem Demirbay’s ball into Steven Zuber was sublime. However, the finish was even better. The number 17 skilfully put it into the bottom corner. Sadly, it ultimately counted for nothing, though.

NUMBER OF THE MATCH: 16

This stat would have been better if it had resulted in a win...TSG have bagged the opener on 16 occasions this season – only FC Bayern can top this tally!
