Cup Cracker:
TSG travel to BVB

The 2-0 victory over VfR Aalen saw TSG reach the DFB Cup quarter finals for the seventh time in their history.

Nia Künzer made the draw on Sunday evening and gave Hoffenheim a tough task. Markus Gisdol's side travel to Borussia Dortmund on either the 7th or 8th April.

Alexander Rosen, TSG's sporting director, had this to say after the draw: “Obviously we would have preferred a home tie, but travelling to Signal-Iduna-Park and playing under floodlights in front of 80,000 spectators is a great challenge. Games like this are the reason you play football and we want to reach the semis for the first time.”

The sides have met previously in the competition. The meeting took place in the 2007/08 season, when TSG were a second division side. Once again, it was a quarter final encounter. BVB won 3-1 thanks to goals from Federico, Tinga and Petric; Francisco Copado scored for TSG. Hopefully it will be a different outcome this time…
