Wolfsburg (German Cup) match reaction:

Here is the match reaction after Hoffenheim's 3-2 defeat to VfL Wolfsburg in the German Cup quarterfinal.

Markus Gisdol: We started really well and had them on the ropes. Their opener came from an unnecessary penalty. Up until that point, we dominated the game. For the second penalty, there's no real need to make a sliding tackle. We had a number of chances. At the end of the day, if you don't take any of them you will lose against a side like Wolfsburg. I think that the cleverer not the better team won. Nevertheless, the team responded well.

Dieter Hecking: It was a great cup game. We didn't start well though, but after 20 minutes we were back in it. In the second half, we kept Hoffenheim away from our goal for a long time. After the red card I thought to myself, I hope we see the result out. We have to be happy that Hoffenheim's second goal came so late. We are pleased with the result.

Sven Schipplock: It's really disappointing. We really wanted to get into the semi-finals with a home win tonight. Conceding two penalties makes things really difficult, but we still played well. That makes it all the more frustrating. Despite the two penalties, we battled back but it just wasn't our day.

Koen Casteels: We didn't take our best chances, and we gifted them two penalties. The semi-final was an important goal of ours. I think the fans in the stadium, particularly in the second half, saw that. That makes it all the more disappointing that we weren't able to win the game.
