TSG sign Germany U20 striker Janik Haberer

Hoffenheim have signed 19-year-old Janik Haberer from Bavarian third-division side SpVgg Unterhaching. The Germany U20 striker will arrive in the summer of 2014, having signed a four-year contract.

Haberer has played for Unterhaching since January 2011. Last season, he made 24 appearances in the youth Bundesliga, scoring 12 goals. During the same period, he made 15 appearances in the third division (1 goal). This season, Haberer has scored three times in 20 third-division games.

“Janik Haberer is a highly talented player whose character also fits with the club,” said Hoffenheim's director of football Alexander Rosen. Despite his age he is one of the stand-out players in the third division. “We want to introduce him to the challenges of the Bundesliga and we are delighted that he has chosen to join TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.”
