German Cup scheduled – TSG host Cottbus on a Tuesday evening

TSG and Cottbus have a short but vibrant history. The two teams have faced each other in the Bundesliga twice and once in the cup. The two league encounters were particularly special for Hoffenheim. On August 16th 2008, TSG faced Cottbus in their first ever Bundesliga match, before playing their inaugural competitive match in the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena against them on January 31st 2009. Hoffenheim won both games – 3-0 in Cottbus and 2-0 at home.

However, TSG don't have any good memories in the cup against Energie Cottbus – on January 26th 2011, they suffered a 1-0 quarterfinal defeat in the Stadium of Friendship. Jiayi Shao scored the game's only goal. The upcoming meeting on September 24th gives Hoffenheim the chance to set the record straight.
