Vukcevic's condition not life-threatening

On Friday morning, a joint statement was released by the Heidelberg Police and the department of public prosecution, revealing that the Bundesliga player was suffering from an insulin-induced low blood sugar at the time of his accident. This information came from an examination by the Heidelberg forensic medicine department.

On September 28th, the 22 year old was on his way to training on the B45 in Bammental when his vehicle crossed over to the opposite lane and collided almost head-on with an articulated lorry. Vukcevic has life-threatening head injuries and is in a coma in Heidelberg University Hospital. His condition recently stabilised, but according to the doctors treating him, it still remains critical.
