Marvin Compper in focus
It's the 90th minute in the easyCredit Arena at Nürnberg. Hoffenheim are leading 2-0, when suddenly Marvin Compper is dismissed from the pitch after he is adjudged to have brought down the last man. But it's not just a three-match ban which he receives as punishment. Compper also injured his knee. Since then, he has returned to full team training and managed 60 minutes of Sunday's friendly against FC Ingolstadt. Achtzehn99.de caught up with him in an exclusive interview.
Marvin, you completed 60 minutes on Sunday after the injury against Nürnberg. How did you feel after the game?
It was a really good test for me. The knee held up well and I haven't had any problems since. That's a good feeling.
So will you be in the squad to face Augsburg in the league on Saturday?
I'm training well and have a good 60 minutes against Ingolstadt behind me. Of course I want to be in the squad. It's up to the manager.
The club has signed Srdjan Lakic on loan from VfL Wolfsburg until the end of the season. What do you make of the deal?
I'm pleased we've been able to fill the vacant position in the squad up front. He has a lot of potential. I hope he can help us in the season and give us some success by scoring some goals.
