Under 21s goalfest – Mlapa nets a hat-trick
For Germany under 21-manager Rainer Adrion, it was his side's fifth victory in five qualifiers. Last night, in front of a modest crowd of 200, Germany thrashed San Marino 8-0. the best performer on the night was Hoffenheim's Peniel Mlapa, who scored a hat-trick.
The TSG striker needed just half an hour to find the net no less than three times (3, 5, 27). The rest of the goals were scored by Maximilian Beister (45), Alexander Esswein (58, 76) and Daniel Ginczek (74). Sebastian Rudy also featured in the game, but was withdrawn early due to a minor groin complaint. Germany lead their group ahead of Greece and Belarus.
