Simunic rejoins team training
"Joe has assured us that he's completely on board with the coaching staff's wishes and the philosophy of the club. Therefore, he has been granted a second chance to prove himself within the team", stated Pezzaiuoli, who was quick to underline the importance of the Croatian centre-back. "Joe has a lot of experience on his side and he can be a huge asset to this team in the future."
Simunic joined 1899 Hoffenheim from Hertha BSC in 2009/10 season and has made 41 Bundesliga appearances in his time in Sinsheim. The Australian born Croatian is currently under contract until 2012 with the Kraichgau outfit, but has struggled to maintain his fitness this season having suffered from muscles problems for long periods of time.
