Joshua Quarshie to join SpVgg Greuther Fürth on loan

Bundesliga football club TSG Hoffenheim have prematurely ended Joshua Quarshie's loan to second-division club Fortuna Düsseldorf and have loaned the 20-year-old central defender to SpVgg Greuther Fürth until the end of the current season with immediate effect.

"Joshua unfortunately did not get the playing time in Düsseldorf that we had hoped for from the loan. For this reason, we have decided together with the player to seek a change," explained Andreas Schicker, TSG's Managing Director for Sport, who went on to add: "We believe that we have now found the ideal solution for Joshua in Greuther Fürth, as we have already had good experiences with loaning our players to Fürth in the past."

Joshua Quarshie moved to the Kraichgau from Rot-Weiss Essen in 2022. The Germany U20 international came on in the closing stages of TSG's home game against VfL Wolfsburg on Matchday 15 of the 2022/23 season and got his first taste of Bundesliga action. The 20-year-old central defender has been a permanent member of the first-team squad since the summer of 2023, but primarily played for TSG's Regionalliga team in the 2023/24 campaign (18 matches / 1 goal).

Quarshie then moved to second-division Fortuna Düsseldorf on loan in January 2024 and made 16 competitive appearances in the 2. Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal for the club. In addition, he also played five times for Fortuna's Regionalliga team.
