Matarazzo: "We should remain critical"
Anton Stach: "We expected a tough game and that's what we got. In the Cup it's always difficult. We knew that Nuremberg were in good form and that a win wasn't guaranteed. It wasn't our best game but for us, the only thing that counts at the end of the day is the victory, and making it to the next round. It's helped us that we scored twice from set pieces - that's done us good. Luckily, our corner variations worked today. The whole team is happy for Arthur Chaves. He also did a short speech in the changing room after the game - he's doing really well. We need to be fresh again by Saturday. We've ticked off the Cup game. St. Pauli have already created difficulties for a lot of teams."
Haris Tabaković: "It was a tough game, especially in the first half. In the end, we were more efficient. That's what it's about in the Cup, and we're through to the next round. That's all that matters, it's a knock-out game: in the Cup, you have to deliver today, there's no tomorrow. I enjoyed being on the pitch from the beginning of the game. As a striker it's obviously always nice to score a goal. When I'm on the pitch, I want to score goals. That's what I do best. The box is my home. But we need to move on from that game now. On Saturday we're playing again in the League, and we need to deliver there too. Because in the League we're still chasing the standard we want to reach."
Pellegrino Matarazzo: "I'm pleased that we got through to the next round. But the first half wasn't up to the standard of football that we want to play. Nuremberg were on very good form and made it very difficult for us. We didn't break through with speed very often. In the second half, we had phases which were better. Bringing on Andrej Kramarić and Tom Bischof helped us a lot. All things considered, we aren't satisfied with our performance, but what counts is that we got through. But we should remain critical of our performance. On Saturday against St. Pauli, we need to show a different side. I'm extremely happy for Arthur Chaves. He got his head to the cross and scored a really well executed goal. Arthur is doing a great job, he's defending and playing easy balls. And he crowned his game with that goal."
Miroslav Klose (Coach, FC Nuremberg): "My team played a very good game. We presented ourselves well and had a lot of good phases in possession. The first goal we conceded is very frustrating for us. In general, conceding two goals from corners is very unfortunate. But I'm still very pleased with my team. The guys left everything they had out there on the pitch."
