TSG sign Czech international Robin Hranáč
"Robin is a centre-back with strong tackling skills, who recently proved his abilities as a regular for the Czech national team at the European Championships in Germany. He has good speed and technique, plays with boldness and looks to get forward. That fits in perfectly with our TSG playing philosophy," says Frank Kramer, interim sporting director at Hoffenheim, going on to add: "We are convinced that he can immediately help our team with his convincing personality and presence on the pitch."
Robin Hranáč joined Viktoria Pilsen's youth academy at the age of 15 and progressed through all of the Czech club's youth teams. After spells on loan at the then Slovakian first division club Tatran Liptovsky Mikulas and FK Pardubice from the Czech Fortuna League, 24-year-old Hranáč returned to Pilsen before last season and became an undisputed regular there. The centre-back played 28 games for Viktoria in the Fortuna Liga last season (three goals/two assists), four games in the championship round of the Fortuna Liga, five matches in the Conference League qualifiers (one assist) and ten games in the Conference League (one assist). The year before, Hranáč was an integral part of the starting XI of Pilsen's league rivals FK Pardubice, appearing in 24 games in the Czech Elite League in the 2022/2023 season (one goal).
Since making his debut for the Czechia national team in March of this year, the 24-year-old centre-back has made six appearances for his home country. Hranáč was also part of the final Czechia squad for the EURO in Germany, playing in every match. He had previously played twelve games for the Czech U21 national team.
