TSG win thanks to Beier brace

Head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo made two changes to his starting line-up compared to a 3-2 win at Borussia Dortmund. Marius Bülter and Wout Weghorst replaced Robert Skov and Andrej Kramarić.

TSG Hoffenheim scored a goal from a corner-kick for the first time this season. Maximilian Beier converted Anton Stach's cross with a brilliant first-time shot in the eighth minute.

Beier narrowly wide
The first big chance of the match: Tohumcu plays it nicely in to Beier, who deals with the high ball well and touches it past Zetterer but unfortunately wide of the goal too.
Beier opens the scoring
TSG score a goal from a corner-kick: Stach delivers the ball from the right, Beier asserts himself in the middle and volleys into the bottom left corner!
Bebou misses chance for 2-0
A threat is posed once again. Beier is played in down the left flank and uses his speed. The goalscorer plays the ball sharply into the middle, where Bebou makes the right run but then does not make the right contact on the shot. More was possible there.
Agu over
The biggest chance for Bremen: nobody has Agu covered at the back post following a corner from the right. Fortunately, the full-back fires over the target from close range.
Ducksch fails to restore parity
Bremen are growing stronger: another dangerous cross comes in from the right flank. Ducksch gets to the ball at the back post with the tips of his toes but fires narrowly wide. Deep breath!
Baumann saves strongly from Ducksch
An equaliser is on the cards: TSG cannot clear the ball away. Schmid heads the ball into the middle again, but Ducksch's header fails to get the better of Baumann, who makes a strong save with his feet.
TSG get lucky
That was close. The ball somehow finds its way through to Ducksch, who doesn't hesitate and shoots from 16 metres; his attempt flies off the post and onto the back of Baumann before Kadeřábek gets it clear.
Beier bags brace
A textbook counter-attack: Grillitsch plays a sensational ball into the path of Bebou, who turns on the afterburners once again and then crosses into the middle from the right. His low cross perfectly finds Beier at the back post, who slots home for the second time.
Agu close to pulling goal back
TSG allow the ball to be taken from them on the halfway line and are then hit on the counter. Agu is clean through on Baumann but fires over like in the first half. Lucky.
Beier misses third goal
That was the chance for the third goal: Bebou breaks through down the right again and again finds Beier in the middle, but he is denied by Zetterer. Pity!
Zetterer again
And another opportunity straightaway: Beier finds Grillitsch, but he cannot find the net from a centre-left position and is thwarted by Zetterer.
A goal back
TSG fail to get the ball clear down the left flank. Weiser passes into the middle, where Alvero is in the right position and nets from close range.
