Dennis Geiger extends until 2027
"Dennis is a textbook example of the Hoffenheim way. As a child of the region who came through the ranks in our academy, he stands for identification, passion and loyalty. His contract extension is a show of trust from both sides that is definitely not an everyday occurrence in this business," said TSG director of football Alexander Rosen. "It brings great joy to see him consistently on the pitch this season after several health setbacks in the past. With his strong mindedness and tough tackling in addition to his great footballing qualities, he has increasingly developed into a leading player in our team recently. We’re delighted that Dennis has committed himself to his TSG, even at this challenging time."
"I thought about my future at length. TSG is my sporting home and I want to continue playing football here,” said Dennis Geiger of his contract extension. “I’m fully convinced that we can still achieve a great deal on our journey together and I will do everything in my power to play my part."
Dennis Geiger joined the TSG U12s in the summer of 2019. He made his Bundesliga debut aged 19 – in a 1-0 victory over SV Werder Bremen on 19 August 2017. Four days later, he was in TSG’s starting line-up for the return leg of their Champions League play-off tie against Liverpool at Anfield (4-2 defeat).
The former captain of the Germany U21 national team has so far made 98 Bundesliga appearances (six goals) and played seven DFB-Pokal ties for TSG. He has featured twice in the Champions League and played in the Europa League eight times.
