DFB U17s: Moerstedt makes debut in 3-1 loss to Hungary 

Max Moerstedt, 16, a forward for the TSG Hoffenheim U17s, made his debut for the DFB U17s as the Germany U17 national team lost 3-1 (1-0) to Uruguay in their opening game of the Four Nations Tournament in Duisburg. He came on as a substitute in the second half. The DFB U17s will face Belgium in their second match on Saturday (11:00 CET), before taking on Israel on Monday (11:00 CET).

Wins for Justin Che and Lúkas Petersson

Some members of the TSG academy teams are currently away on international duty – and are enjoying success. Justin Che, 18, from the Hoffenheim U23s played the full 90 minutes at the heart of defence as the USA U20s beat Peru 3-1 (1-1). Lúkas Petersson, 18, a goalkeeper for the TSG U19s, was part of the Iceland U19 team that won 3-1 (0-0) in Norway. He kept goal for 86 minutes, before his team-mates Halldór Snaer Georgsson was given a brief run-out in the final minutes.

TSG provides the most Germany youth internationals

Major recognition for TSG's youth development work: TSG Hoffenheim have provided the most Germany youth international for the DFB's various youth sides in the current international break. A total of 12 Hoffenheim players have been called up by the various teams. This statistic includes all players who are part of a Germany youth team squad from U16 to U21 level.

"The call-ups serve as recognition for our players and for us as a club too. It shows the high quality of the training we are carrying out at TSG Hoffenheim," said Jens Rasiejewski, who heads up the TSG academy.

Germany U18s: Tom Bischof scores in 4-0 win over Czechia

At the U18 Four Nations Tournament in Czechia, a Germany U18 national team including Tom Bischof, 17, from the TSG senior squad and Tim Drexler, the 17-year-old captain of the Hoffenheim U19s, beat the hosts 4-0 (1-0) in their opening game in Zlín. Bischof played the full 90 minutes and scored the goal for 3-0 (59), with Drexler a second-half substitute. The other goalscorers were Leander Popp, Nelson Weiper and Arijon Ibrahimovic. Their next match – to be played at the same venue – comes on Friday (16:00 CET) when they take on the USA, before finishing off against Mexico in Kromeriz on Sunday (11:00 CET).

Late Germany call-up for Oliver Baumann

Germany coach Hansi Flick has given Oliver Baumann a late call-up for the upcoming internationals against Hungary (Fr. 23. September at 20:45 CET) and England (Mo. 26 September at 20:45 CET). The TSG goalkeeper replaces Manuel Neuer, who has tested positive for the coronavirus. It is a fourth senior Germany call-up for Baumann, who is still waiting to make his international debut.

Germany U19s: Damar scores in win over Armenia

Muhammed Damar, 18, got on the scoresheet when he put the Germany U19s 2-0 up in the 33rd minute of their 5-0 (2-0) win against Armenia in EURO qualifying on Wednesday lunchtime. Damar played the opening 45 minutes in Gifhorn. Other TSG players involved included the U23 duo of Joshua Quarshie and Umut Tohumcu (both 18; the latter as captain), who played the full 90 minutes for Germany. The other goals were scored by Brajan Gruda (24), Keke Topp (pen., 69; 79) and Lukas Ullrich (89). Germany's next match in EURO qualifying comes against Belarus on Saturday (16:00 CET).

Change to Fan Shop opening times on Saturday

On Saturday (24 September, kick-off 17:55 CET), the TSG women's team will play at the PreZero Arena for the first time – against VfL Wolfsburg. Due to the match, there will be a change to the Fan Shop opening times at the stadium. Rather than the usual 10:00-14:00 CET, the shop will be in matchday mode. The doors will open three hours before kick-off and close an hour after the final whistle.

U23s to face Trier on 1 November

The U23s' match against Eintracht Tier in the Regionalliga Südwest has been rescheduled for 19:00 CET on 1 November. The match was initially supposed to be take place this coming Saturday, 24 September. The reason for the rescheduling is the fact that Germany's youth teams have called up several members of the TSG squad (under 21 years) who have played in at least 50% of the league matches contested by Hoffenheim's reserve team this season.

Monday

One-game suspension for Feldkamp

The Sports Court of the German Football Association (DFB) has suspended Jana Feldkamp for one Women's Bundesliga match in single-judge proceedings, after charges of unsporting conduct were brought by the DFB Control Committee. Feldkamp was sent off by referee Melissa Joos in the 33rd minute of the away game against 1. FC Cologne. The club has agreed to the verdict, which is now legally binding.

National cerebral palsy football team to pay a visit to TSG

Global United FC has invited the German national cerebral palsy football team to attend a training camp in Zuzenhausen. TSG Hoffenheim provided a pitch in the main training centre and offered the players excellent conditions for a total of four training sessions. Head coach Conny Frank also attended the TSG Hoffenheim U23 match against SSV Ulm with a group of players and organised other team-building activities.

The national cerebral palsy football team consists of players who have suffered brain damage and have movement disorders as a result. The German national team was founded in 2014. Each team has six outfield players and one goalkeeper, with matches played on a pitch that is 70-75 metres long and 50-55 metres wide. Games last 60 minutes and are divided into two halves.
