Four Saturday afternoon kick-offs, Schalke trip on Friday night
Last week, the DFL announced the schedule for the matches away to Hertha BSC (2 October/15:30 CET) and at home to Werder Bremen (7 October/20:30 CET). Now that it has been decided that the DFB-Pokal clash with Schalke 04 will be played on Tuesday (18 October/20:45 CET), the timetable for the subsequent fixtures has also been announced. A majority of these games will take place at the traditional time of 15:30 CET on Saturday. The Bundesliga trip to Schalke has been scheduled for a Friday night, while the game away to 1. FC Köln will start at 19:30 CET on a Sunday. There will also be one midweek fixture, with TSG travelling to face Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday 9 November.
The first competitive match after the World Cup will be away to Union Berlin at the Alten Försterei stadium on Saturday 21 January (15:30 CET).
