Bellarabi: "We need to be fully alert"

Karim Bellarabi has been plying his trade at Bayer 04 Leverkusen for almost 10 years. While in Leverkusen, the 31-year-old has established himself in the Bundesliga and become a Germany international. In an interview with tsg-hoffenheim.de prior to facing Hoffenheim (Monday at 20:30 CET), the winger spoke about the change of coaches, the objectives for the season and TSG.

Karim, Hannes Wolf has been your new coach since the last matchday. What has changed since then?

"Each coach tends to bring in his own philosophy, which often involves an adjustment of the system. That means it's always different and new for everyone at the beginning. The first impressions are very positive. We have gained new momentum in the past three weeks and are looking ahead to our upcoming challenges with confidence."

You've made a winning start under his leadership. What are your aims for the rest of the season?

"Our objective is always to win every game. And after beating Schalke at home, we now want to build on that in Hoffenheim. Although we're aware that it's anything but a straightforward task."

You've already alluded to your next opponents, TSG Hoffenheim. What will it come down to in this match?

"It'll be a difficult match, no doubt about that. We'll need to produce a highly focused performance, go for it and all fulfil our responsibilities. Only by doing so will we manage to bring the three points home."

There have tended to be lots of goals in matches between Bayer 04 and TSG in the past? Are you expecting a similar game?

Hoffenheim have consistently been a difficult opponent in the past few years. They have a strong team again this year with very good individual quality, especially in attack. We'll need to be on full alert for the 90 minutes."
