Bitter exit to Molde
Personnel & tactics:
Head coach Sebastian Hoeness made one change to the starting XI that convincingly beat Werder Bremen 4-0. Kevin Vogt, who had been suspended against the Green & Whites, returned to the fold and lined up alongside Florian Grillitsch and Chris Richards in a back three in front of goalkeeper Oliver Baumann. Pavel Kadeřábek and Marco John kept their places on the flanks, while Diadie Samassékou, Sebastian Rudy and Christoph Baumgartner formed the midfield trio. Following their excellent recent form, Munas Dabbur and Ihlas Bebou kept their places in attack.
Striker Andrej Kramarić was brought on to replace Baumgartner in the 56th minute. Sargis Adamyan and Ryan Sessegnon then came on for Kadeřábek and John, with Bebou moving over to the right flank (70). Georginio Rutter replaced Samassékou in the 83rd minute to bolster the attack in the closing stages.
Moment of the match:
The 82nd minute: Munas Dabbur had a brilliant chance to level the scores from an Ihlas Bebou cross, but the Israeli's header from an unmarked position seven metres out was straight at Molde shot-stopper Andreas Linde.

Match highlights
Almost the opener: Rudy whips a free-kick into the centre from the right and Richards wins the aerial battle, but Linde makes an outstanding save to stop Hoffenheim from taking the lead.
The next chance follows soon after: Dabbur turns beautifully on a sixpence and targets the far corner but fires narrowly wide.
Molde take the lead with their first opportunity: Andersen is not properly closed down and he cuts into the middle from the left, before picking out the bottom corner while Baumann stands rooted to the spot.
Baumgartner fails to connect properly with a Kadeřábek cross. Dabbur follows up and heads goalbound from close range, but Linde makes a great reflex save to thwart a potential leveller.
Dabbur controls a cross beautifully and turns on the spot. He subsequently tries to place his shot but Linde makes another top stop.
Kramarić unleashes a great effort from range. Linde is beaten but the ball flies just wide of the mark.
Bebou picks out the relatively unmarked Dabbur with a cross but he heads straight into the arms of Linde. That was the big chance to restore parity.
Linde keeps his side on level terms once again by diving at full-stretch and making a strong save to keep out Kramarić's powerful strike from distance.
A pass over the top puts Andersen clean through. He carries the ball past Baumann and slots into the empty net.
