Angelo Stiller joins on free transfer from Bayern Munich
"Angelo is certainly one of the most exciting young German central midfielders around and has already gained professional experience at FC Bayern despite the extremely high level of competition. He has a very fine left foot, is clever and consistent with his tackling, and possesses a good understanding of the game," said director of football Alexander Rosen. It is "a fundamental part of TSG's DNA to find young and highly gifted players, integrate them into our first-team set-up in a responsible manner, and develop them in all areas. That's what has set us apart in the course of recent years and applies to both talented youngsters from our own academy and to players that we recruit via our excellent scouting." Hoffenheim have already signed 22-year-old David Raum on a free transfer from SpVgg Greuther Fürth ahead of the coming season.
A Munich native who started out in the FC Bayern youth system at the age of nine, Stiller has already made three competitive appearances for the record champions this term – including the Champions League games away to Atlético Madrid and at home to Lok Moscow. Last season, Stiller was part of the Bayern Munich U23 squad managed by current TSG head coach Sebastian Hoeness and played an important role as the reserves claimed the third-division title.
