Cup draw to be broadcast on Sportschau on Sunday

In about a week, the TSG Hoffenheim senior squad will return to Zuzenhausen to resume training. But even before the preparations for the 2020/21 season begins, TSG will find out their opponents for the first competitive match of the season: the draw for the DFB Cup First Round ties, which will be played between 11 and 14 September, will take place on Sunday evening during the ARD Sportschau programme. The broadcast will start at 18:30 CET.

Unlike in previous years, however, it may be the case that the exact opponent is not clear even once the draw has taken place. The regional cup winners from the respective associations still have to be determined. The planned date for these finals is 22 August.

The only potential opponents determined to date are Karlsruher SC, 1 FC Nuremberg, SV Wehen Wiesbaden, Dynamo Dresden (places 15-18 in the Bundesliga 2) plus Würzburger Kickers, Eintracht Braunschweig, FC Ingolstadt and MSV Duisburg (places 2-5 in the third division; the FC Bayern Munich second team is not allowed to play in the DFB Cup).
