TSG were clearly the better side, especially in the first half, where they led 4-0 against SC Heerenveen, after just over 20 minutes. Adam Szalai even managed to increase the lead to 5-0 before the break. Manager Julian Nagelsmann was pleased with the performance. "We played a very good game, both defensively and offensively. We were incredibly dangerous in front of goal and had a good presence on the pitch."

TSG continued to be dominant during the second half and won 8-2 in the end. Newcomer Vincenzo Grifo, who made it 6-0, enjoyed the game. "When you win by a lot and are able to enjoy football, then of course the outcome is positive. I believe that we are working well during this preparation phase. A lot is already starting to work and it's all enjoyable."
