Andreas Ludwig returns to TSG
"Andreas has special qualities as a footballer and can play in various attacking roles", said U23 Coach Marco Wildersinn about the man from Ulm. "As we often rotate players and play different formations, his versatility will be extremely useful for us, in addition to his experience and mentality. His wide-ranging experience as a professional footballer will make him invaluable as a mentor for the younger players."
After leaving TSG in summer 2014, Ludwig spent a year at VfR Aalen in the 2. Bundesliga before moving to FC Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he made 47 appearances and scored four goals over two years. Last season he signed for 1.FC Magdeburg, with whom he won promotion to the 2. Bundesliga as 3. Bundesliga champions.
Youth Coordinator Dirk Mack said: "Andreas is the perfect man for this league, who also knows the club inside out and is aware of what we expect of him here. We have no doubt that at 27 years old he has the experience needed to play an effective role as a senior player along with Robin Szarka."
