Schär joins Deportivo La Coruña
Fabian Schär has completed a move from TSG Hoffenheim to Spanish first-division side Deportivo La Coruña. The Switzerland international departed the club’s training camp in Upper Austria at Friday lunchtime and will head to Spain to undergo the necessary medical.
The 25-year-old joined Hoffenheim two years ago and made 30 Bundesliga appearances (1 goal) for TSG. He was unable to claim a regular spot in the team though, completing the full 90 minutes in just 18 of those matches.
“Fabian has demands that he has been unable to meet here,” said director of football Alexander Rosen.
“Nevertheless, he has always acted with professionalism and loyalty, despite what hasn’t been the easiest of situations for him,” added Rosen, before wishing Fabian all the best at his new club. Schär’s contract with TSG was due to run until 30th June 2019.
