TSG sign Kerem Demirbay
“Kerem was one of the outstanding players in the 2. Bundesliga last season,” said TSG director of football Alexander Rosen. The left-footer “is an athletic and creative attacker who shows great determination in front of the opponents’ goal.”
The Herten born attacker with Turkish roots, who was recently loaned from HSV to Fortuna Düsseldorf, scored ten goals and gave four assists last season, to make him one of the second division’s most successful players last season and to catch the eye of more high profile clubs.
“The intensity with which TSG looked to get me to sign showed was a great compliment and It’s necessary for me to repay their faith. I want to prove myself in the Bundesliga and I have the optimum conditions to do that here.”
Demirbay made 47 second division appearances (11 goals) for Fortuna Düsseldorf and 1. FC Kaiserslautern and played three times for HSV in the Bundesliga. He was also a part of the Germany U21 team that won the European Championship in 2015.
